Understand your use
When do you drink or use drugs? What do you get from it, and what is it costing you?
“The addiction is not the primary problem. It’s an attempt to solve a problem.”
Substances often serve a purpose. They can help you manage overwhelming emotions, quiet your thoughts, or feel more at ease. We’ll explore that role in your life and work on other ways to meet those needs.
How I can help
We’ll work on what needs to change.
When do you drink or use drugs? What do you get from it, and what is it costing you?
Work on handling cravings, changing habits, and getting through situations where you’re likely to drink or use.
Get support with the stress, feelings, and relationships that can make staying sober difficult.
What you can expect
We’ll talk openly about your use and its impact, without deciding in advance what your next step has to be. There’s space to understand what’s driving it and work toward changes that matter to you.
My experience includes individual counseling in private practice and group counseling in intensive outpatient programs and other higher levels of care.
We can also talk about whether additional support or a different level of care would be helpful.
